Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Election Reform

My name is Kelly and I have recently taken on the role of assisting Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (MBQ) regarding a review of the elections and consulting with MBQ membership.

I have been involved with elections for the past 20 years, working with various First Nations in Ontario and Political-Territorial Organizations with elections.

Currently Tyendinaga Mohawk Council (TMC) have asked me to consult with membership on the possibility of election reform.

We will be engaging the membership, through this website, social media and community meetings (see poster below) to provide information on the three election systems that are available, looking at what is involved with each system, how it will affect MBQ and next steps.

Finally, in mid-April there will be a survey for all electors of MBQ (status members over the age of 18) whereby they will be able to answer questions that will assist TMC in deciding next steps.

A final report of the results of this engagement and survey will be provided to TMC.

Please check back to this page often for updates, follow us on Facebook @MBQElectionReform and mark your calendars to attend the community meeting.
